1. Bowhead whale. Scientists defined that this species of the Arctic baleen whales is the real find in the mysteries of longevity. The sizes of these beings are quite big, however concede to the sizes of the well-known blue whales. Length of a trunk of a bowhead whale reaches 20 m, and its weight – to 130 tons. Females are usually larger than males. About their age it is possible to judge also by tips of the harpoons which got stuck in skin of whales more than century ago during hunting for them. The maximum life expectancy of a bowhead whale was officially recorded. It makes 211 years.
2. Turtles. These reptiles are considered as one of long-living animals in the world. The average duration of their life – 200 years. For example, one of the most ancient turtles is the elephant turtle by nickname Johnathan. She lives on Saint Elena's island. For the first time it was photographed in far 1900th year! After that it was photographed by each half a century. The scientists researching Johnathan claim that he feels perfectly. Henriette who was born on Galapagos Islands approximately in the 1830th year, and died in the 2006th year in one of the Australian zoos was one more turtle long-liver. Its age was 176 years.
3. Sturgeons. The family sturgeon is one of the oldest families of bony fishes. Live sturgeon in moderate, subtropical and subarctic zones: at coast of Eurasia and North America, in the rivers and lakes. On average the sturgeon reaches 3 meters in length. Not so long ago the staff of Department of natural resources of the State of Wisconsin caught a sturgeon weighing 108 kg and of 2.2 meters. Ichthyologists defined that age of this fish – 125 years. 4. Red sea hedgehog. Recently scientists caught an individual of a red sea hedgehog on whom the inscription demonstrating its capture in far 1805 was scratched. This inscription was made by two Americans - Clark and Lewis of the State of Oregon. Scientists found out that red sea hedgehogs are phenomenal long-livers. The fact is that they have ability to continuous updating of the cellular structure. These animals almost do not grow old thanks to this feature. These creations in shallow water at rocky coast of the Pacific Ocean live (from Alaska to California). Needles of these hedgehogs reach 8 cm and completely cover their round bodies.
5. Raven and other birds. Average life expectancy of ravens – more than 100 years, maximum – more than 200 years. This bird lives in bondage much longer, than on freedom. It is curious that such longevity with them is divided by both kites, and falcons, and even the parrots capable to live up to 120 years.
