Centuries postponed the traces which became subsequently historical and cultural monuments on the Armenian earth. In Armenia there are three groups of UNESCO world heritage sites famous around the world.

Vicinities EchmiadzinV of Yerevan the set of historical monuments is located, but the major among them is Echmiadzin - it is the center of spiritual life of Armenia, location of a throne of the Catholicos of all Armenians. In the Echmiadzinsky monastery the main cathedral of Armenia which is one of the most ancient Christian temples in the world is located. The cathedral was under construction several centuries, then underwent a set of reconstruction. Now the temple is majestic and wonderful, the marble altar is located inside, a floor is laid also out by marble slabs, graceful paintings of walls and a dome bewitch.
2. The monastery GegardEtot the monastery is also entered in the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. This surprising architectural creation. Several temples of the monastery are completely hollowed in rocks, others have only a part of the rooms located in rocks. Gegard is the most visited cultural and historical object of Armenia. The monastery was based in the 4th century on the vivifying source located in a cave. In the territory of the monastery the set of relics is stored, of which the spear with which the centurion pierced Jesus Christ's body is main. 3. Haghpat Monasteries and SanainEti monasteries are also included into the list of objects of UNESCO. Akhpat located in the north of Armenia is a unique monument of a medieval era. Differs in asymmetric planning, organically fits into a mountainous land relief. In Akhpat in the 10th century the school at which outstanding theologians and scientists of Armenia taught was founded. Sanain was based in the 10th century, he also has the world popularity. It is a monastic complex which was located in the extensive territory. At the beginning of existence of the monastery in its territory there lived about five hundred monks. Many constructions of the monastery did not survive because of a destructive earthquake of 1139 up to now.
4. The earth of Armenia very ancient, in the IX-VI centuries BC in its territory the state of Urartu prospered. Armenia the first in world history adopted Christianity. On all territory of the country the set of unique monuments of the last centuries is scattered. Everywhere it is possible to meet the stone crosses called – Hachkara. These are symbols of tragic events which were endured by the Armenian people throughout the history.
