Reptiles (or reptiles) have just the same extremities, as well as for the most organized four-footed animals – mammals and birds. Motionless or races it is impossible to catch production, to escape from the enemy, to take cover in due time from bad weather, etc. The ability is dexterous to move is one of "postulates" of quality of life. For this reason to reptiles, as well as any other living organism, the mobility is necessary.
Why do reptiles need mobility of the head?
In principle, the answer will be the same, as above: for qualitative life. It is worth explaining. The fact is that reptiles, according to laws of evolution of animals, is a continuation of the amphibious (amphibians) which developed the land. One of the main signs distinguishing reptiles from amphibians is existence of cervical department. In other words, reptiles have a neck which allows them to turn the head in different directions. It is very important for reptiles. For example, the same sand lizard, having heard any rustle or a sound, instantly develops the head in the relevant party and visually estimates the events. If the lizard is threatened by danger, then she just gets away and survives and if ahead there is a potential production, then the reptile instantly is enough it and does not starve to death.
