Purposes and tasks of management

Any head respecting himself dreams to reach high production efficiency and high capacity of the company. In other words – to make so that business management was effective and had positive results. To heads management - the social social science studying the principles and regularities of production management at all possible levels allows to resolve all these issues. Today the essence, the purposes and tasks of management are considered in three main directions:

  • as the function allowing to direct people;
  • as the science helping to carry out function of management;
  • as a social group of those who carry out work on management, i.e. managers.

All these directions allow to solve one main task – achievement of the planned purposes in market conditions with use of human and material resources with application of methods and functions of the economic mechanism.

Management – the purposes, tasks and types

Production management – difficult, multidimensional process. Management allows to answer the main issues which are born during this process. First of all, it is important to define who whom operates, is so-called institutional aspect of management. Further it is necessary to find out how control is exercised and as it influences the operated employees. It is functional aspect of management. The last from the main questions – what control is exercised – tool aspect.

In activity of any enterprise it is necessary to allocate the purposes and restrictions. They carry out the main objectives in management. Let's consider main objectives and tasks of management and each of these concepts in more detail.

The concept of the purpose and task of management is the desirable result for which any organization and tools necessary for achievement of this result strives. Management sets the purposes which are used for the general reference point of activity and the general assessment of enterprise performance before heads. As the purposes the acquisition or preservation of any factors usually is considered. Here it is worth remembering – the longer the estimated period, the more there will be an uncertainty of the future therefore also the purposes have to be set in more general form. Also the purposes can be the general and global. In other words, the purposes can be developed for the company in general, and can be responsible for each activity of the organization. There is the general classification on which the purposes can be carried out. For example, the purposes productive and economic include a number of aspirations:

  • to income;
  • to a property state;
  • to increase in turnover;
  • to decrease in expenses.

Also the purposes can be divided on the following factors:

  • purpose subject (the general or private result is calculated);
  • quantity of variables (multialternative and having one alternative);
  • value (main, through or minor);
  • the covered sphere (a common goal or private).

Unlike the purposes the achievement of tasks is carried out only during a certain period of time for which within that period the management decision is intended. Tasks are defined as a series of the certain works ordered to performance in certain terms. There are three possible categories – work with information, with objects, or with people. One of the most important tasks of management is the organization of process of production of goods and services, both taking into account consumers and with already available human resources. Here ensuring stability of position of the organization in the market and ensuring profitability of its activity enters.

Also management has a number of the principles of management which represent various norms, regularities and rules which observance guarantees achievement of the tasks set for society. These principles through commitment, consciousness and will of the person are implemented. Use of these qualities is possible only in the most comfortable working conditions.

In the conditions of the market and market economy of a task, the principles and the purposes of management come down to focusing the company on demand and requirements of the market so that to make types of products which really are in demand and can make profit. Also management dictates need of use of modern information base with the computer and other equipment, for acceptance of optimal solutions. Today habitual words in the use the head, management and the director receded into the background, having given way to such terms as manager and management.
