The children's car seat represents special adaptation which is obligatory means when transporting children in the car. There are several types of such chairs, each of which is calculated on certain age and the child's weight. According to the current legislation, the car seat is necessary for children from the moment of their birth.
Types of car seats
It is possible to distinguish three main categories from all range of car seats: chairs for children since the birth up to one year, transforming devices for children from 1 year to 12 years and special chairs boosters. Each version has the characteristics and features.
It is allowed to transport the child on a front seat of the car only when using a car seat. However the safest place in the vehicle the back seat for the driver is considered.
The first category of car seats means two provisions of the child – sitting and lying. In a lying state transport babies who did not learn to sit yet. This kind of a chair is used until until the weight of the child reaches 12-13 kg.
Transforming car seats are equipped with convenient mechanisms which allow to adjust the device individually for each child. In this case adjustment of seat belts, height of a seat and its width is meant. Usually such chairs are used until the child is not 12 years old. Car seats boosters are devices which are fixed on the seat belt located on a back seat of the car. Special protection ensures safety of the child during his transportation and is, so-called, economic option of a traditional chair for children. It is possible to use the booster, only if the child was 6 years old.
The bag carrying from a carriage is forbidden to be used as the device for transportation of children in the car. Such design does not ensure safety to the kid.
If the child refuses to sit in a car seat
Some children refuse flatly to sit in car seats. The main argument in this case is the opinion of the child that it "not small". It is difficult to challenge such statement, and to convince the kid that the chair is means of its protection, even more difficult. For a start try to tell the child about rules of elementary safety. Give an example of accident and possible bruises. It is necessary to do it very tactfully and accurately. Never tell terrifying stories and the more so do not show examples of terrible accidents. Present that you the child and try to explain need of a car seat in "children's language". Offer the ultimatum to the child. Agree to ride it on the car only provided that it will use a car seat. This argument not always works because not all children like to go to a car. For parents their transportation more often is need, than entertainment. If the child considers himself the adult, tell him about the system of penalties which are provided by the legislation. Children from early age have to understand that there are certain rules which execution is obligatory. It is possible for children of school age and it is necessary to explain traffic regulations.
