It is possible to cut down own requirements to a minimum, to move to rural areas and to live, practically conducting subsistence economy: to pass to oven heating, to refuse use of electricity, to get a kitchen garden, pets and to live, using fruits of the work. Surplus can try to be sold to buy necessary things which you will not be able to create or receive without investments. But, of course, you will not call such life easy and carefree. You should work, most likely, even more, than during life in the city.
