For setup of Internet access of several computers which form a single local area network it is possible to use one of these PCs. It will allow not to buy the router, thereby having saved a certain sum of money.

Instruction
1. Usually for creation of a small local area network use the network hub or a switch. Buy this device and a set of network cables. Connect to their help LAN (Ethernet) hub connectors with the necessary computers. Connect power to the network equipment and include it.
2. Select the personal computer which will undertake functions of the router. It should be rather powerful PC. Consider that the increased load of the selected computer can negatively affect the speed of work of a local area network. Connect the additional network interface card to the selected PC. Connect it to a cable of provider.
3. Turn on this computer and perform tuning of connection to the Internet. Use the instruction located on the website of your provider if you cannot make it independently. Now open the Start menu and pass to the Network Connections point. Open properties of the created connection, having clicked it with the right mouse button.
4. Select the Access tab. Find point which is responsible for providing other network users with access to this Internet connection. Install near it a tick. Surely select the local area network formed by your computers in the following field of the Access menu. Save settings of this network adapter.
5. Pass to properties of that network interface card which is connected to your hub. Open the menu containing TCP/IP protocol operation parameters. Enter the static IP address, previously having activated the corresponding point. Remember its value.
6. Turn on other networked PCs. In settings of the TCP/IP protocol set the constant IP addresses. Remember that their values should not repeat. Now specify field values "The main gateway" and "the Preferred DNS server". Fill them with the IP address of the first computer. Wait for update of parameters of a local area network and check a possibility of connection to the Internet.
