On the server servicing the websites there are folders on number of users. The file set, making the maintenance of any given website is stored in each of them. It can be HTML-files, images, scripts and so forth.
Instruction
1. For access to the user folder of the server via the web interface visit the website of hosting provider by means of the normal browser. Enter the login and the password provided to you after registration. On the page loaded after that find the section under the name "File management" or similar. There will be a list of the available files and folders. They can be deleted, moved to other folders. Some web interfaces allow to edit HTML-files also. And to load other files on the server or to replace already available, pass into the desirable folder then find the Browse button and click it. Select the file in the file system of the local computer, and then click "Ok". After closing of a window press the Load button. If on the server there is already the previous version of the file, for its rewriting press the Yes button.
2. To get access to the folder on the server on the FTP standard, use the software client of this protocol. The browser for this purpose will not approach: it allows to browse only the maintenance of FTP servers, but not to change it. Also as such client some managers of files, for example, of Midnoght Commander and Far approach.
3. Find point allowing to open connection with the FTP server in the menu of the program. For example, in Midnight Commander: "The left panel" (or "The right panel") - "FTP connection".
4. Learn the address of the FTP server on the official site of provider. Enter it in the respective field. In the remained fields enter the port number, the login and the password. Some clients allow to enter all these data into one line, for example, так:ftp://логин:пароль@server.domain:портДля the Midnight Commander programs syntax of this line a little иной:/#ftp:логин:пароль@server.domain:порт
5. After connection you will be moved to the folder automatically. If it does not occur, pass into it manually. Usually path to it is as follows: / home/vash_login.
6. Carry out copying of files in the folder then disconnect (if the file manager is used, for a rupture of connection open any of local folders in the corresponding panel).
