1. The first and most reliable way to learn settings of connection to network is contacting support desk of your provider. These data can be necessary also at the first setup of connection of the computer to the Internet.
2. If your connection works and receives settings automatically, it is possible to learn them as follows: click "Start-up" on a desktop, in the opened main menu select the Execute item.
3. Enter in the line cmd, click okB the opened window of the command line enter the ipconfig/all command.
4. In the displayed list of settings find the line Default gateway (it is translated as "The main gateway"). The address standing opposite to this line is also the address of your gateway.
5. There are also other ways to learn the gateway address. For example, you can look at it in a properties window of connection of the network interface card of your computer to the Internet. For this purpose open the main menu of the computer the Start-up button, find "Control panel" and in the section "Setup" click the line "Network Connections".
6. Before you the folder with labels of all created connections will open. Find among them current and open its context menu. In it select the Status item, the window with information on this Internet connection will open. Select the Support tab. The address of the main gateway of this connection is placed on it in the most bottom line.
7. If connection to the Internet is carried out not directly, and by means of the router, this router will act as the main gateway of your computer. Then the address received by the above method will be its address for internal network.
