The network address (it is called still the computer MAC address) can be learned in several popular ways. It is the simplest to learn, certainly, the network address of the computer, having looked at a sticker or packaging of the network interface card. In case we deal not with the computer, and with the laptop, it is necessary to pay attention to a device bottom — there should be a sticker on which the MAC address of all network interfaces is specified. If there is no such sticker at the bottom of the laptop — it shall be on its packaging. But what to do if packaging or documentation on the network interface card was not saved?
It is possible to use the ipconfig command. For this purpose it is necessary to come into the Start menu and to select "Execute", having entered at the same time in the field the cmd command. The window of the console of black color will open, in it it is necessary to make a team of a view ipconfig/all. After that in the text which appeared on the screen we look for "Connection on a local area network" (Ethernet the adapter). The line "Physical address" will also represent a required MAC address. If on one computer several different network interface cards, in the list are installed at once, respectively, there will also be several physical addresses, on one on each installed card. Therefore it is necessary to select the address of that card which interests you at present from the list.
There is one more way of definition of the network address of the computer which is considered not as the most effective, but at the same time very popular and common. It consists in use of two commands - ping and arp. In this case at first the ping target command, and then the arp-a command is executed. After execution of such command on the screen the table will appear. In it the MAC address of the adapter which interests you will be specified. This way is most often applied in the normal peer-to-peer network. The fact is that if the network is divided into segments and uses routers, to learn the MAC address of the computer to learn it will not turn out (it will turn out to learn only the network address of the router).
