Quite often when using a world wide web there is a need of access lock on certain resources or groups of resources. The reasons for this purpose there can be a set, however it is worth remembering that the procedure of the ban on visit of the websites is quite simple and does not cause special difficulties.
Instruction
1. To block access to certain websites, edit the hosts file located at the address c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\. This document contains DNS names of the prohibited resources therefore having placed in it the necessary addresses, you will interfere with visit of the undesirable websites from the computer. This mechanism is relevant only for one PC and if the blocked website has mirrors, it is necessary to make entry in host'e for each mirror separately.
2. Also use way of IP blocking. For this purpose create the list of the IP addresses of the websites with the prohibited access for a certain computer, thereby you will provide blocking by means of the firewall program. However at such way to block the website as regards a name it will be impossible. You should not forget also about a method with use of the proxy server. The essence consists in creation of "black lists" of the websites in proxy server software setups. When using this way you specify "stop word" in the addresses of the websites, access to which you want to close. Inferiority of this way consists in forced setup of browsers and in a possibility of users, to visit the prohibited resources, passing the proxy server.
3. Also use way of URL filtering. The magnificent flexibility and good effect strikingly distinguishes this method from previous. The analysis of each network resource makes an URL filtering process essence. If the Web request heading containing the address of the website which needs to be blocked then is found the following operations are executed:
1) the network resource with request of the client is blocked;
2) the message "Is sent to the client access is blocked";
3) TCP connection is interrupted.
For use of this way enter the prohibited requests into value of filters and save changes. The URL filter can block access to any website by name, not allow loading of the file on their expansion and also create the list of the resolved websites and prohibit access to the others.
