Webalta – the Russian search engine which creators plan to make the serious competition of this sphere to world giants is possible even to Google. The system exists since 2005, however meanwhile is in a stage of public testing. In general the Russian programmers and businessmen could wish only success in so difficult, but worthy business if not a peculiar way of advance of the child in the mass of Internet users.
In 2010 many with unpleasant surprise found out that the homepage of this search engine is set in their browser as house, and besides, what is much more unpleasant, it is impossible to remove webalta normal means. After exposure in settings of the browser of the home page "about:blank", that is empty, persistent webalta becomes house after the first restart of the program again. Moreover, reinstallation of the browser does not help too.
Fortunately, the way to get rid of Vebalta exists. For this purpose it is necessary:
1. Start regedit. It can be done, having gathered "regedit" in the field to Execute (is caused from the Start menu or clicking of Win+R) or in the command line.
2. Make search by all register of the keys containing "webalta". For this purpose click Ctrl+F, enter "webalta" (without kavchek) and click Enter. All found keys can just be deleted.
3. Start the browser and set as the home page empty or any on the taste.
4. To remove webalta from the Firefox browser, it is necessary to make some more actions. Find the user.js file (Documents and Settings (user name) Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesxxxxxxxx.default where icons x designated a set of letters and digits).
5. Open the file by means of the Notepad
6. Find lines where Vebalta is mentioned. Replace it with own home page or with "about:blank"
7. Open by means of the Notepad the prefs.js file in the same folder. Here too it will be necessary to delete webalta.
8. Find a line where webalta is mentioned and instead of the address to this page insert "chrome://speeddial/content/speeddial.xul" (without quotes) which was before intervention of importunate search engine there.
Make sure that after restart of the browser the home page remained that which you installed. On it fight against Webalta can be considered finished.
