False slippery jacks: how to distinguish?

At a campaign to the forest it is very simple to encounter false slippery jacks - mushrooms, similar in appearance, some of which are poisonous. How to distinguish a useful mushroom from harmful, without having made a fatal flaw?

Features of collecting butter

First of all it is worth deciding on the departure period to the forest on mushrooms. Edible and useful slippery jacks grow through certain periods while false appear throughout all aestivo-autumnal period in a chaotic order.

The first wave of emergence of useful mushrooms is necessary for the beginning of June. Early slippery jacks grow small small groups in pineries. The small sizes are characteristic of these representatives, and such mushrooms are suitable unless for preparation of soups and second courses.

The second wave of honey agarics is necessary for the end of July. These are already full-size mushrooms having pronounced taste and allocated with a large amount of useful substances. It is possible not only to eat them at once, but also to salt for the winter. Further, if there is damp and moderately cold fall, honey agarics can be found up to the end of October and emergence of the first frosts.

The bright chocolate hat is characteristic of later slippery jacks. They grow near congestions of both coniferous, and deciduous trees, is frequent at their roots. The "correct" slippery jacks grow only at groups on 3-5 pieces and more. Respectively, one more main sign – oily to the touch and the hat of the correct rounded shape shining by sight. For the rest, to distinguish, a mushroom poisonous underfoot or useful, it is worth giving several simplest councils concerning appearance of slippery jacks.

How to distinguish false slippery jacks

False and poisonous doubles butter – panterny fly agarics. They have characteristic dark specks along all surface of a hat which differs in a reddish or violet shade. Under it there is also more dark and dense spongy layer, than for a true mushroom. Besides, at hats of mean doubles quite often there are strips arising under the influence of sunshine.

Having broken a slippery jack, surely study its inner surface. At harmful slippery jacks it has a lamellar appearance, and at good – absolutely smooth. It should be noted that under a hat the slippery jacks have to have a light film which just and hides for itself an inner surface. It needs to be hooked slightly a knife and to glance inside to make sure of origin of a mushroom.

Panterny fly agarics and toadstools are capable to grow separately while slippery jacks prefer to grow at small groups. A leg at poisonous funguses – violet or yellowish, at the real honey agarics – white. To the touch harmful mushrooms usually very soft and friable, can be scattered, and after failure their appearance quickly and considerably spoils. Useful slippery jacks – firm and integral to the touch, don't get out of the shape even later a long time after failure. Anyway, if you aren't sure of the knowledge, you shouldn't push luck and it is better to go to "silent hunting" with skilled mushroom pickers.
