1. Truly to calculate quantity of wall-paper necessary for repair of the room, it is necessary to make the correct measurement of the room. For this purpose two parameters – perimeter of the room and its height will be necessary for you. The perimeter of the room is total length of all room walls. Standard room height in modern apartments is 2.5 meters, but nevertheless it is better to measure it. Spaces on which windows and doors are located in total area are not considered, but also you should not neglect them. Write down them in the separate column.
2. The large role in the correct calculations will be played by width and length of rolls of the chosen wall-paper. Length of standard roll is usually 10.5 meters. Width can be various – 50, 70 or 100 cm. With standard wall height from standard roll 4 full strips and one vertical piece have to turn out. Look whether this piece will be suitable for gluing over door or under window. At the same time it is necessary to remember that even if wall-paper does not possess the pattern demanding selection it is possible to paste this piece only in that direction in what there are all strips, it is impossible to turn or overturn this piece at all.
3. If wall-paper possesses the difficult drawing, then when cutting strips it will be necessary to consider also it. If the pattern repeats each 15 cm, then the stock of length not less than 30 cm will be necessary for each strip. Therefore from standard roll more than three strips to you will be very difficult to be received. The remained scraps perfectly will be suitable for pasting of secluded places.
4. Upon purchase of wall-paper to the calculated quantity it is worth getting spare roll. Superfluous it will never be. But it will help to fill possible defects in the course of repair or it is useful in the future when there is need to replace the spoiled site of wall-paper in the future. Do not throw out all labels from rolls at once, keep at least one on which series of the party bought by you will be specified. Very often happens that wall-paper of one brand going at one number has different serial marking, and you will already be able to notice visual difference of different series only on wall when is late. The correct calculation, attentiveness and accuracy will become guarantee of successful repair in your room.
