The water supply system is one of the most necessary for ensuring activity. When carrying out repair or preventive maintenance of water supply system in the house periodically it is necessary to drain water from system. For this purpose it is necessary to execute number of technology operations, strictly observing their sequence.
Instruction
1. Turn off water supply to the house. Disconnect electrical energy and gas supply from the systems of heating of water. If the house is equipped with central heating system, open the output crane located on pipes or on the boiler (the hose for this purpose can be required).
2. Open valves on one and all radiators. Since the most upper floor of the house (cottage), open all cranes regulating supply of hot water in the bathing, shower room in kitchen, in utility rooms and so on. Do not forget to drain water from toilet bowl tank.
3. Make sure that all cranes of the trunk main of water supply are open that all remained water has left system. If you intend to leave the house or the dacha for long time (for example, for the winter), surely double-check all elements of system. Otherwise at approach of frosts the system will fail, and its major repair will be required.
4. For additional protection against frost add a little salt or tablet of glycerin to the water which has remained in siphons. Such measure will protect siphon from possible gap and also will not allow penetration of unpleasant smell from pipes to the room.
5. If in the course of water drain from system it is required to disunite some pipeline sections, use special metal or plastic stubs.
6. If your house is located in climatic zone where there are hard frosts, take additional measures for prevention of freezing of water which nevertheless could remain in hard-to-reach spots. On cold sites where there passes water (garage, the basement, etc.) install the electric heater or just put electrolamp at pipe. It is desirable to wind also before the onset of cold weather water supply pipes with old newspapers, having tied up them rope. Envelop the frozen pipe matter (old rags) and it is abundant water with hot water; it will promote defrosting.
