One of the very first vegetables which gardeners begin to grow up is sweet pepper. This process begins with seedling. Usually it begins to be planted in February. How to grow up pepper seedling in house conditions?
Cultivation of seedling of pepper lasts about 8-10 weeks depending on conditions and grade. This process includes several stages: selection and sorting of seeds, selection of soil and tanks for cultivation, crops and further leaving, including watering and application of fertilizers.
At the first stage it is necessary to choose competently necessary seeds and to sort them. Among the best and checked grades there are the Athlete, Snowfall, the Red and Gold Miracle, Heracles and others. The seeds collected in year before last will be ideal for crops. To sort them, reject small, ugly and dark seeds at once. It is also possible to prepare solution of table salt (on 1 l of water of 50 g of salt) in which submerge seeds. Those from them which will emerge on surface are no good, and here fallen by bottom will be suitable for cultivation.
Then seeds disinfect. For this purpose they are lowered in dark solution of potassium permanganate for 15 minutes and washed out in clear water.
It is preferable to grow up seedling of pepper without sword-play. Therefore it is better to select capacity for it in the form of separate pots without further replacing. For this purpose it is possible to get peat pots or to cut off normal cardboard boxes from under milk. It is impossible that tanks were transparent as it will slow down growth of plants.
For seedling of pepper it is important to prepare soil mix correctly. It has to be friable well to pass oxygen to roots, and without formation of crust after watering. Therefore soil has to consist, for example, of 3 parts of prime quality land from kitchen garden, 1 part of humus, 1 part of sawdust, 0.5 l of wood ashes and 30 g of superphosphate. Also peat, bank sand with addition of urea, dolomite powder or complex fertilizer can be part of soil mix. Even it is necessary to add a little sawdust to purchased soil and prime quality land from the site.
For the best growth the seeds can be wetted in growth factor for one day, for example to the epena. It is done before the landing. Previously they are wrapped in matter, and later rinsed in clear water. Also either the prorashchivaniye, or hardening can subject seeds. At prorashchivaniye the seeds turn in damp fabric for 5-6 days and put on small plateau. From above capacity is closed package. After emergence of sprouts start crops.
Tanks for cultivation of seedling are washed and disinfected. Then fill soil and do small deepenings to 1 cm. It is the maximum depth of crops of seeds. And then transfer to usual conditions of cultivation again.
Watering of plants is carried out without special enthusiasm in the morning. If to pour them, then seedling of pepper can have disease "black leg".
The first fertilizing is carried out in 2-3 weeks after crops in the presence of 3-4 real leaflets. At this moment phosphorus and potassium are simply necessary for seedling of pepper. For this purpose such fertilizer as "Kemira the versatile person" will approach. The following application of fertilizers will be required when on saplings is till 10-12 leaflets.
During the entire period of cultivation of capacity with seedling constantly turn the different parties by sunlight for uniform lighting.
In certain timepoint seedling of pepper will be ready to disembarkation to the greenhouse or hotbed. At the same time on it there have to be till 10-15 leaflets, 1-2 buds and height about 30 cm.
Before change on new conditions of cultivation seedling is tempered in advance. For this purpose in 2-3 weeks begin to open window leaf or window indoors for some time.
