Iodine solution – rather widespread medication. Most often iodine is used for disinfecting of wounds and grazes, drawing of the warming-up iodic grid on any given parts of body. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to use iodine accurately. The substance which has accidentally got on clothes, furniture or carpet always leaves dark brown spots which can not, at first sight, simply be removed. Actually, it is not difficult to remove spot from iodine at all. The main thing is to make it in time, without waiting for its full absorption in fabric fibers.
Instruction
1. The spot is recommended to be deleted from iodine from inner side of thing, using for this purpose clean cotton tampon or disk. And it is necessary to moisten with stain remover at first the place around spot, then its edges, gradually passing to the middle of pollution. Such way of processing excludes the probability that the spot will blur on clean surface of thing.
2. The most effective way of removal of spot from iodine is rubbing of pollution by ordinary crude potatoes. Naturally, previously potato needs to be cut in half. Be not frightened if you notice that the spot from iodine rubbed with potatoes suddenly will turn blue. It is only result of interaction of starch with iodine. Wash the site of clothes cleaned from pollution in soapsuds. If the spot has not disappeared, repeat the procedure 2-3 times.
3. Excellently cleans spots from iodine combination of vinegar and soda. At first strew pollution with soda. Then drip on it two-three of drops of vinegar and leave the thing spoiled by iodine to become impregnated with solution for the night. Rinse thing in cold water in the morning. If to remove spot from iodine by means of vinegar and soda you have solved in the morning or in the afternoon, it is necessary to leave solution on pollution for 10-12 hours.
4. It is possible to remove spot from iodine house conditions also by means of ammonia solution. It part teaspoon in two glasses of water and wipe with this solution pollution. In 10-15 minutes carefully wash thing in soapsuds. Instead of ammonia solution it is possible to use also hyposulphite (sodium thiosulphate) which can be got in any photographer's studio.
5. If iodine has spoiled bright jacket or the dress decorated with flower ornament, it is better to remove pollution with the cotton tampon, the wetted in the denatured alcohol. Having completely removed spot from iodine from clothes, carefully rinse thing in cold water.
