Pineapple – the plant not usual for the European countries, is necessary for it a lot of light and heat, and such conditions meet or in southern latitudes, or in greenhouses. However if desired it is possible to grow up pineapple in house conditions, but care for it can bring a lot of trouble. As well as any plant, it is necessary to feed up, water, fertilize it the soil, to replace, care and cherish. 1. First of all it is necessary to choose the correct pot. As at pineapple superficial root system, it is necessary to take superficial, but wide pots.
2. It is necessary to prepare the new house for plant. Take pot, fill up 1.5-2 cm of drainage, then soil on bottom. It is possible to buy in shop special soil for pineappele family, and it is possible to make independently: to take the cespitose earth, sheet humus, sand, peat and to mix all this in proportions 1:2:1:1. Besides, from above it is necessary to fill about three centimeters of mix from equal parts of sheet humus and sand.
3. After that accurately take out pineapple from old pot, trying not to damage roots. Pay attention to condition of roots: if they begin to rot, reduce watering frequency, and in new pot fill up a little wood charcoal.
4. Replace plant in new pot strictly by transfer method, that is without removal of earth lump around roots. If roots are damaged, the plant should spend many forces for restoration, and, most likely, pineapple will get sick. Depth of root neck should be increased by 0.5-1 cm, and the plant can be drowned on 3-4 cm of rather previous level.
5. After change the strengthened leaving is necessary for plant: fertilizing (complex mineral fertilizers or special fertilizers best of all will be suitable for pineappele family); having watered (water temperature has to be approximately 30-35os) not more often than once a week; it is a lot of light (daylight hours not less than 12 hours a day, in the winter it it is possible to provide by means of special lamp) and it is warm (at temperature less than 18 wasps your pineapple will die, optimum temperature 25-30os).
6. It is necessary to replace pineapple annually, at the same time the capacity of pot has to increase slightly because the root system of plant small: for adult pineapple the pot on 3-4 liters suffices. Time should be chosen intelligently too: in spite of the fact that the method of transfer allows to replace plant during blossoming, it is better not to do it that your favourite had no excess stress. For couple of days before change soil can be watered with boiled water: it will create necessary humidity and will disinfect the earth. As drainage it is recommended to take mix from haydite and beaten red brick.
