Warming by snow
Early warming will do more harm, than advantage, and you risk to lose many plants which will die not from cold, and from perishing. Even young annual trees are quite capable to sustain short-term frosts to -7 °C. Therefore to warm trees it is necessary to begin at the end of November. Especially, as the most important and valuable material for protection of trees against cold weather serves snow. Without it even for well warmed cultures there is destruction by frost threat. Therefore at the first opportunity with big snow layer all persons in need in protection of plant fill up. In pristvolny circles of trees the snow is well stamped, and from above again add big layer. It serves not only as warming, but also additional source of moisture which plants so need during the spring period.
Shelter of trees
As hard frosts it is much more dangerous to root system, than to trunks, by preparation of garden for wintering it is recommended to take care first of all of warming of the soil in pristvolny circles. Except destruction by frost of roots, in the winter period to trees, especially young landings, wood damage threatens. Are dangerous in this plan of alternation of night frosts with day warming. Trunks of trees from South side under the influence of solar heat get warm, and the movement of juice begins. Night frosts turn juice into crystals which destroy wood at the cellular level, causing emergence of so-called frost cracks. Autumn whitewashing of trunks lime and also warming by burlap will help to avoid such danger.
