How to solder tulip

"Tulips" in informal conversation call RCA connectors which are used for sound transmission and video. These are those three-colored tag terminals, the connecting DVD or the VHS player to the TV. Yellow outputs video, and white and red, respectively for sound conclusion. Sometimes it is required to solder such tip that it is not difficult at all.

It is required to you

  • - soldering iron;
  • - tin;
  • - rosin;
  • - RCA (actually, tulip);
  • - cable;
  • - knife (lighter, matches).

Instruction

1. Prepare cable for soldering. Remove insulation course, without having damaged cable. If it multicore, then try not to tear off or cut off veins. It is possible to smooth out in two most widespread ways. Take knife or edge and carry out on isolation of wire. Accurately pull for the cut-off edge and isolation will get down, without damaging current carrying part. If it is impossible to you, then the lighter or matches set fire to cable run which needs to be smoothed out and after softening of isolation remove it the material resistant to burning.

2. Take the soldering iron and prepare it for work, in advance having smoothed out its tip. For this purpose it is possible to use file, and in certain cases edge at the bottom of ceramic ware if there is nothing near at hand. Heat edge of wire in rosin. Further apply on cable with the soldering iron tin. This process is called tinning. Communication, both video, and audio will be much more high-quality.

3. Cut off the excess end of wire that was enough for soldering to RCA. For specification apply the end of video cable to tulip.

4. Prepare tip of RCA. Very accurately remove isolation which is put on on it. Also wipe it from dust and degrease.

5. Apply with the soldering iron a little rosin and solder wire tin to internal groove of video cable.
