In the majority of regions of Russia the tomatoes grow up by seedling method. For this reason all gardeners who are growing up at themselves on the site this culture need to know all rules of landing of these seeds, and in particular terms of sowing and depth of closing up of seeds in soil.
Speed of their viability depends on depth of landing of seeds. As seeds of tomatoes quite small, and you should not put them too deeply. The fact is that forces can just not be enough for tiny sunflower seeds to overcome layer of earth. As for the optimum depth of landing, it is 0.5-1 cm. At the same time it is worth remembering that fresh seeds, especially if before landing to take them in special solution activator of growth, it is possible to put on depth of one centimeter, and lain down - is closer to the surface of soil - on depth in half-centimeter.
If you for the first time plant tomatoes and wish to grow up healthy and strong seedling, you should get acquainted with progress of work of sowing of seeds of tomatoes:
- get or independently make soil for seedling. With acquisition of ready soil of difficulties should not arise, however if you want to avoid excess expenditure, then make soil independently. There is a lot of recipes of its production, below the simplest:
- Sand, peat (riding and low-lying), proportions 1:1:1.
- Peat, wood ashes, sand - 10:1:5.
- Fir-tree needles, sand, wood ashes - 10:5:1.
- if for sowing old seeds are used, then wet them for couple of hours in special solution, for example, ""Zircon"";
- later the specified time slightly dry seeds of tomatoes, stand them about an hour in the warm aired room;
- fill with soil the wide capacity not less than five-seven centimeters in depth, in the earth do poles of 0.5-1 cm in depth (it is possible to use normal pencil). It should be noted that the distance between poles has to be not less than two centimeters, distance between ranks - four-five centimeters;
- place in each pole on one sunflower seed and powder with soil;
- from above slightly trample down soil and humidify. For moistening at this stage it is the best of all to use spray;
- place capacity with the planted seeds in the warm well lit place.
