The gasoline grade suitable for specific model of the tool is usually specified in the operating manual. If to neglect the recommendations of the producer and to fill in in tank fuel with the wrong octane number, over time the device can just fail. Trimmers happen to duple and to four-stroke engines. Their gas station and service considerably differ.
Petrol trimmers with the two-stroke engine
The motor-trimmers equipped with the two-stroke engine have no separate feed system of oil for greasing of the rubbing parts. Therefore they need to be filled not with pure gasoline, but its mix with engine oil. Remember that oil has to be special, intended for two-stroke engines. Use of automobile engine oil can put the tool out of action.
Trimmers with the duple motor should be filled with AI-92 brand gasoline. Of course, it will be able to use also gasoline with higher octane number. But when filling with AI-95 gasoline the engine will overheat and work irregularly. It is necessary to mix oil and gasoline in the correct proportion. If lubricant will be not enough, on the surface of the piston and walls of cylinder edge fins will appear, the piston ring will collapse then, and the engine will jam. The surplus of oil is not so critical, but too will lead to unpleasant consequences. On the piston the deposit will be formed, and the piston ring will coke up that will lead to falling of power. Usually proportions of gasoline and oil are specified in the instruction to the tool. Many producers order ratio 50:1 — on 50 parts of fuel one part of oil is filled in. Therefore, 20 ml of oil have to fall on one liter of fuel. If the engine is worn-out, or the tool works with high loading, the amount of lubricant can be brought to 25:1, filling in 40 ml on one liter of gasoline.
Petrol trimmers with the four-stroke engine
The trimmers put in action by the four-stroke engine have more difficult device. Gasoline and oil are filled in in different tanks from where then move in the engine. In such models it is impossible to use the lubricant intended for two-stroke engines. Gasoline for the trimmer with such motor has to be AI-92 or AI-95 brands. It is not recommended to use fuel with lower octane number — it will lead to unstable engine operation. Many producers of trimmers persistently advise to use the fuels and lubricants released under their own logo. Often they are more expensive than the analogs which are on sale under other names. Whether it is worth overpaying for branded oil? The companies manufacturing the petrol tool do not produce fuel and lubricants. They buy these products from the firms which are engaged in production of oils, and then pack lubricant in capacity with the symbolics. Therefore it is possible to buy suitable oil of any producer quietly. The main thing that it corresponded to engine parameters.
