What to fill up ceiling with

Questions power - and heatsavings are relevant for each owner living in owner-occupied dwelling. Warming of walls and ceiling allows to make rooms more comfortable and cozy, providing at the same time quite significant economy of means. Bulk materials which are used for this purpose, one of the most available and economic ways to warm ceiling.

How to choose heater for ceiling

Choosing suitable material for ceiling of the house, it is necessary to consider not only its heat-insulating characteristics, but also resistance to extreme temperatures and their differences, convenience of mounting, availability, profitability, fire and environmental safety.

The important value has also what in your house overlappings are made of. So, for example, for the base that the basement has not turned into the swamp, it is necessary to do waterproofing anyway, and - and the waterproofing is only necessary for ceiling of Paro when ceiling overlappings wooden.

Besides, it is better to warm wooden overlappings materials on the characteristics and structure close to tree – for example, the "breathing" ecocotton wool or sawdust. In most cases, sawdust and other bulk materials: shaving, haydite, slag, the foam granules, etc. allow to achieve necessary effect with the minimum labor and material inputs.

The minimum material inputs are assumed by use of such traditional bulk heater as natural sawdust and shaving, but it is necessary to make their fire-prevention and antifungal processing.

Characteristics of thermal bulk insulation materials

Haydite is the most popular bulk material which is used for warming of ceilings. Its bulk density is from 200 to 400 kg/CBM, and heat conductivity – from 0.099 to 0.12 W / mk. It is more preferable to use this material to warming of the ceilings representing concrete slabs of overlapping. It has rather big weight and not each wooden ceiling will be able to sustain the recommended thickness of ceramsite layer which is from 20 to 40 cm.

The haydite layer from above has to be surely protected from moisture hit, for this purpose over it do tie.

For warming of ceiling it is possible to use bellied vermiculite, it is received by roasting of rocks. Density of bulk vermiculite is from 70 to 150 kg/CBM, and heat conductivity – from 0.04 to 0.05 W / mk. This material is widely used for warming of ceilings and interfloor overlappings in industrial and civil engineering. Bellied perlite – result of roasting of other rocks, has the same physical characteristics, as bellied vermiculite. Quite good heattechnical characteristics the siopor has heat insulator (sioterm), they can fill up ceilings too. Its bulk density is from 130 to 200 kg/CBM, and heat conductivity – from 0.05 to 0.06 W / mk.
