Operation calculation of a root from any number means finding of such value at which multiplication of this value by itself is so much times how many it is specified in a root indicator, gives as a result subradical number. If the indicator of a root is equal to two, then such root is called "square". If necessary to calculate a square root the user of the computer has a choice from several options.
Instruction
1. Use any calculator for calculation of roots with an exponent, equal two ("square"). The reference to start of the program calculator can be found in the section "Office" of the Subsection "Standard" of the section "All Programs" of the Windows OS main menu. The button noted by sqrt symbols is intended for calculation of a square root in its interface (from SQuare RooT - "square root").
2. Use the calculator who is built in search engines of Nigma or Google if you need the easiest way to find out value of a square root of any number. For example, if you need to calculate a root from number 989, then pass to the homepage of any of these searchers and enter inquiry "a root from 989". The designation used in the Windows calculator for designation of this operation can be applied and here - the request of sqrt 989 will be correctly processed by the search engine too.
3. Use the built-in ROOT function if it is possible to attract to the solution of a task the tabular editor of Microsoft Word of Excel. That to make it, start the application and enter subradical number into the first cell. Then pass into a cell in which you want to see result of calculation, and click the Insert Function button - it is placed over the table, lines of formulas are more left.
4. In the opened dialogue select the Mathematical item in a drop-down list "Category", and after that click in the list of the ROOT functions and press the OK button. Specify a cell with subradical number in the opened Function Arguments window - rather simply to click on it a mouse. Press the OK button - Excel will calculate and will display value of a square root. After that you will have an opportunity to change subradical number, and in a cell with a formula the value of a square root for new value will be displayed.
