Instruction

1. Division – action the return to multiplication. And if multiplication to identically repeated addition, then division – to repeated subtraction. For example: 120: 60 = 2

At division there are three components: the dividend (120) – number which is divided is (reduced), a divider (60) – number into which divide, private (2) – the number received as a result of division. Basic rules of division of natural numbers: - it is impossible to divide into zero; - if to divide any number into unit, we will receive the same number; - if to divide any number into it, we will receive unit; - if to divide any number into zero, we will receive zero; - to find a divider, it is necessary to divide a dividend into private; - to find a dividend, it is necessary to increase a divider by private; - private shows how much the dividend is more than divider.

3. However not any natural number is divided into another without the rest. In such cases the division with remainder is applicable. Here basic rule of such division: - the dividend(s) is equal to the work of the divider (p) and incomplete private (q) put with the rest (r): a = p*q + r, and the rest is burned up to get to an interval from 0 to p taken on the module.

4. Also there are several rules allowing to define whether this number is divided into the set divider.

5. Division of integers is carried out by the same rules, as natural, but modules of numbers participate in division, the sign of a dividend is determined by the rule. However at division with remainder, in certain cases the rest appears the same sign, as a dividend or a divider (for example,-11: (-7) = 1 from the rest (-4)).
