The Internet got literally into each house now. People use it for work, communication and entertainments. The Internet and to children is useful, helping them with study, promoting mastering skills of use of the computer, etc. But many parents are concerned by the fact that their children can face negative aspects of the Internet: even unintentionally on the Internet it is possible to meet the materials connected with a pornography, violence, strong language, etc. How to secure the child against negative features of the Internet?

1. The first way of restriction or blocking of use of the Internet is an application of the special functions which are built in the majority of web browsers. So, for example, in the Internet Explorer browser in the menu "Service" - "Internet Options" it is possible to adjust restriction of access to information obtained from the Internet. For restriction it is possible to choose one or several of the following offered categories: "Violence", "Offensive language", "Exposure of a body", "Sex". The lack of this way is that modern children, as a rule, quickly understand settings of the browser and easily find an opportunity to turn off the restrictions set by parents.
2. The second way – use of special programs of parental control, the most known of which is the free K9 Web Protection program. For installation of this program it is necessary to register on the official site of her producers and to specify the e-mail address in registration process. After that to the specified address the license code which needs to be entered during installation of the program will be sent. In settings of the program it is possible to set restriction of access to websites by the choice of one of five offered protection levels, or to directly specify concrete undesirable categories of the websites (all 68 such categories are offered). For an entrance to settings of the program it is required to enter the password which is established by parents during the first use of the program. The main lack of this program is that its difficult interface is executed in English, and it is hard for the parents who are not knowing English to understand it.
3. The third way – use of antivirus software with the built-in functions of parental control. The most known of these programs – Kaspersky Crystal. Besides the ban of access to various categories of websites, this program allows to limit time of use of the computer. Access to settings of the program is provided after input of the password established by parents. The Kaspersky Crystal program is paid. 4. The fourth way is suitable for children of younger age. It is the free colourful Gogul browser developed especially for kids. Using this browser, the child can open only web pages of the children's websites approved by teachers and psychologists.
