If you want the pug to please you with healthy appearance and cheerfulness for many years, take care of its healthy nutrition from puppyish age. The balanced diet for dogs of tiny breeds whom pugs treat prevents development of the diseases connected with a lack of nutrients of an animal organism, allows to avoid development of infections and other problems with health of a dog.

1. When you bring a little puppy of a pug to the house, the first ten days you feed him with the same forage which he received at former owners. Usually, puppies are distributed approximately at the age of 8-9 weeks. If the mopsenok received ready-made industrial feeds, continue to give it to it, strictly following the recommendation written on packing. You enter a new forage gradually, adding parts (begin with 1/5). Completely pass to a new diet in five-seven days. At such age the puppy has to receive a forage not less than 5 times a day at regular intervals. From three-months age you transfer a pug to four times food.

2. Do not offer a puppy food from the table if you plan to feed him with home-made food, Prepare for it separately. The diet of a little pug has to look approximately so: the first feeding - porridge on meat broth, with addition of vegetables and small cut boiled meat; the second — milk porridge; the third — crude meat; the fourth — cottage cheese or kefir. Once a week add to food a mopsenka a half of a boiled egg yolk. Take care that in a puppy flat dish there was always fresh water.

3. You cook porridge for a pug from buckwheat, "oat-flakes", porridge, rice (infrequently since it contains many carbohydrates). As a rule, puppies like friable porridge more. The meat diet can consist of beef, mutton, horse-flesh, meat of a turkey, chicken. Meat give to a puppy crude (in it more vitamins) or boiled, main that it was not fat. Cut it on small pieces, first it is possible to crush to a condition of forcemeat. Once a week replace a meat portion with low-fat sea fish (surely boiled!).

4. Pugs eat vegetables and fruit with pleasure. Since three-months age include in a daily diet of a puppy grated crude carrots, salad, cabbage, spinach and other raw vegetables (except potatoes). They can be mixed in small amounts to a meat portion.

5. For prevention of rickets and normal growth of a skeleton add mineral additives to food of a puppy. They can be got in pet-shop. If the mopsenok is accustomed to eat ready-made industrial feeds, then in it there is no need since such forages, as a rule, contain all mineral substances, necessary for development of puppies.

6. In process of growing of a puppy you pass to thrice (from 7 to 12 months), and to one-year-old age – two times food, having kept norm of a day diet.

7. Pugs very much like to eat and seldom leave food in the bowl therefore do not overfeed a puppy. Excessive feeding promotes obesity of a dog, negatively affects her health in general.
