1. Among the fellows krestovik differs in special gluttony. At successful hunting he is capable to master at one go the food volume equal to the weight (to 8 average sizes of insects). 2. If production several times surpasses the hunter, the spider without hesitation gnaws round trap threads, deleting the unlucky guest from network. Undertakes to restore a web krestovik only when it is favourably located and provides a good catch.
3. Weaving of a web – the long and laborious procedure. Therefore only females are engaged in it. Depending on the size, on this occupation from 5 to 12 hours can leave. It is interesting that threads of a web happen two types: sticky are also not present. Radial threads of a frame trudge from usual thread, and a circular spiral – from sticky. The sizes of a finished product of adult "weavers" can have 1.5 m a diameter.
4. Having diligently hanged out the invisible trap, the spider gets into the shelter and patiently waits production. That someone was snared it is notified by fluctuation of alarm thread. As the dexterous rope-walker, a spider directs to production, entangles it a web and makes a deadly sting. Having received a dose of the paralyzing poison, the victim fades.
5. Though the spider is also a predator, but primary digestion of food happens out of his body.
