Knowledge of properties of chemical elements and their connections is the cornerstone of some effective focuses. It is rather simple to light a candle without fire though it is not always safe. The property of some chemical elements called self-ignition is well known. Reacting with air or other substances, they generate such amount of heat that it is enough for ignition. The most characteristic and known examples are, for example, self-ignition of phosphorus or the oiled rags on air, sawdust at contact with acids and some liquids with potassium permanganate.

1. And now an example with a candle. Take solution of white phosphorus in carbon sulfur. Grease with it a candle match. In a few minutes carbon sulfur will evaporate. On a match of a candle there will be a white phosphorus which easily ignites at contact with air. The candle lit up. However to arrange such representation hardly to someone will come to mind. Phosphorus and carbon sulfur are very poisonous and flammable. They demand to themselves the careful relation. Therefore it is independently best of all not to repeat the above experiment.
2. The following focus or experience (as it is pleasant to you more?) it is absolutely simple. Take two candles. Grease a match of one with glycerin. Another – potassium permanganate. Bring matches to each other. The candle lit up. During the work with naked flame observe measures of fire safety.
3. Floating around the Internet it is possible to meet a lot of useful and different. There is also such way of ignition of a candle without fire: take a pine splinter, dip it in the melted sulfur. It is necessary to have flint and a tinder – the material igniting from one spark. Very well burned cotton fabric is suitable for this purpose. Cut a spark by means of flint – for this purpose, however, the skill is necessary. Inflate a tinder. Bring a splinter. Lit up – light from it a candle.
4. If to speak about focus, i.e. about such action which assumes, among other, creation of a special requisite then it is possible to offer the following: take a test tube, pour the melted paraffin. Pour in it a little alcohol. Close a metal stopper with an opening through which miss a match in a test tube. Fill in a cap with paraffin. "Candle" is ready. Prepare gruel from sulfuric acid and powder of potassium permanganate. It needs to be prepared very little. Do not touch mix! Lower the end of a glass stick in gruel. On it there has to be a little mix. Consider, very little. Touch with the end of a "magic" stick a candle match. Voila! The candle lit up.
