The cell phones crumpled and somehow the clothes thrust into a pocket, the summer jacket which in a flash is "letting grow" a hood or a cap depending on the weather forecast received on the Internet, the tiny robots traveling around vessels of the person and battling against cancer cells … Fantasy? Yes and no. Of course, today the mankind is still not so powerful. But scientists believe that in the near future thanks to nanotechnologies the world considerably will change, will become safer for accommodation.
In the term "nanotechnology" a key role is played by the word "nano". In translation from Greek "nano" means one billion part something. If to take meter as a measurement basis, then the nanometer will be by the size slightly more atom. Well, for bigger beauty of comparison it is possible to imagine the ordinary pea put on Earth pole. And so, the nanometer so is less than a meter as far as a pea least of all globe.
The combination of the words "nano" and "technology" is inevitably led to a conclusion that scientists are going to use achievements of progress to create infinitesimal particles from one to hundred nanometers in size and to place them at service to mankind, using them for production of new materials, drugs and many other.
By the way, process of creation of nanoparticles, namely so scientists decided to call formations with a size no more than hundred nanometers, occurs in two ways. The first, simpler, means that the nanoparticle is formed of the large volume of substance by means of gradual reduction of the last. The second, a little more difficult and expensive, assumes impact directly on separate atoms and their subsequent association. Many scientists consider that the second way is more preferable also behind it the future of nanotechnology. Process is reminded by the designer, however, with that difference that instead of details molecules and atoms from which in literal sense new materials and nanodevices are created are used. Such innovative, and at the same time partly by a traditional method, scientists hope to change the world, having created new opportunities for each person. The scope of nanotechnologies is almost unlimited. The industry, power, space researches, medicine, rescue of people, shelf oil production, equipment and technological equipment of military units - all these and many other industries will resolutely change under the influence of nanotechnologies, will become more effective. With special impatience achievements in the field of medicine are expected. Already today there are enthusiastic examples of the nanotechnologies used during creation of the special medicinal capsule which is adjusted on interaction with certain types of cages. It is known that many diseases can reliably be cured it is possible only at the cellular level. However medicines of the previous generations could not work selectively and together with sick cells destroyed as well healthy. Because of it the dose of medicine was often too small to gain a victory over an illness. However by means of nanotechnology became possible to deliver medicine precisely in a sick cell, avoiding contact with healthy. It is a huge step forward which testifies to a possible fast victory over cancer tumors.
