How to determine glass capacity

How to determine glass capacity

Glass is the unique material allowing to provide, for example, isolation of the room from adverse external factors. One of the main indicators of glass – coefficient of its transmission of light.

It is required to you

  • - spectrophotometer;
  • - glass;
  • - temnitel of light;
  • - source of diffused light;
  • - microampermeter;
  • - photo cell;
  • - galvanometer;
  • - photometric camera;
  • - basic lattice.

Instruction

1. The coefficient of transmission of light is a size which is defined as the attitude of amount of light quitting the optical system, towards amount of the entering light. In other words, this relation solarof the size energy passing through glass to the size of the energy of visible light falling on glass. The coefficient of transmission of glass is closely connected with its optical transparency.

2. Coefficients of absorption and transmission of glass estimate by means of spectrophotometers (small samples of glass are for this purpose necessary). Transmission of glass can be diffusion, directed, mixed or directionally - scattered.

3. Besides, determination of capacity of glass is carried out at values of illumination of 500, 750 and 1000 lx which is created on the plane of a dividing partition of the photometric camera by means of a source of diffused light. Carry out adjustment of illumination by means of a temnitel of light, fixing every time at the same time value of its size.

4. To trace illumination, connect the photo cell established in a source of diffused light to the microampermeter or a galvanometer. Besides, fix four photo cells in the photometric camera (they have to be turned by the reception plane in the direction from an aperture).

5. Establish glass which capacity needs to be determined on a basic lattice in an aperture of the photometric camera (the central part of a sample has to be on a vertical axis of the photometric camera). After that install limiters of an aperture of a dividing partition.

6. After it measure photo cell current by means of the microampermeter or a galvanometer. Then remove a sample from an aperture of a dividing partition of the photometric camera. Repeatedly measure photo cell current.

7. You take measurements at three values of illumination (500, 750 and 1000 lx) at an interval of five minutes.
