The one hundredth part of some size in mathematics is called percent. As a rule, percentage expression of numbers is used for more evident comparison of some share in relation to whole. The indicators expressed as a percentage are considered as relative, that is showing the size of one number concerning another. From this follows that for calculation of percent you need to know two numbers - compared and to what it is compared.

Instruction
1. Determine which of two numbers should be taken for 100%. In to statistics it the number is called "a basic indicator" - it is that whole from which as a percentage you need to find a share. For example, if Internet traffic used by you for last month made 12.5 gigabytes, and for the first week of new month - 3.7 gigabytes, then the basic indicator should be considered number 12.5.
2. Find a ratio between a share and whole, that is between compared and basic indicators. If to use data of an example from the previous step, then it has to be the relation of 3.7 gigabytes to 12.5 (3.7/12.5 = 0.296).
3. Increase the number calculated on the previous step a hundred times. The received value will also express the compared indicator percentage of basic. For example, 0.296*100=29.6% mean that 3.7 gigabytes of Internet traffic spent for the first week of month make 29.6% of all traffic of last month (12.5 gigabytes).
4. Use calculators as the simplest of ways of calculation of percent if it is impossible to count "in mind". For the solution of such task to look for the relevant service in network it is not obligatory - some search engines have the built-in calculators. For example, to count the answer (29.6).
5. If there is no access to network, then it is possible to use any calculator, including also what is established in the computer together with the operating system.
