Instruction

1. Prepare kompressometr. It is not obligatory to buy this device, it can be hired. Warm the car engine. For this purpose it is possible just to start the car and to allow it to work. It is important that the measurement was made with well warmed engine. Invite someone to yourself in the help, in time measurements it is necessary to turn the starter the crankshaft and at the same time to hold a butterfly valve abroach.

2. Unscrew from a head of the block of cylinders of a spark plug.

3. Take kompressometr and straighten a tip with a rubber stopper so that it was convenient to be inserted. Insert a tip into an opening which remained after removal of a candle. Remember that the tip has to be inserted densely. Give the command to the assistant that the tip is inserted then he has to press a pedal of an accelerator and rotate the crankshaft the starter within 4-5 seconds. Know that the frequency of rotation has to be at least 100 revolutions per minute. If the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft is lower, then recharge the accumulator or replace it.

4. Take readings of a kompressomer in all available engine cylinders. Be attentive in case essential differences in measurements are detected, it is necessary to check everything again. Often it happens that the difference of values is caused by the wrong installation of a tip. After the measurement is made, it is possible to judge the general condition of wear of compression rings and also tightness of GRM valves.
