Thanks to modern achievements in the field of geography it is possible to measure distance from the city to the city without leaving the house. By means of geoinformation resources of the Internet and also satellite navigators, measurement of distance from the city to the city will occupy all a couple of minutes.
Instruction
1. Open the page of the project Yandex.Maps which is located at the address of accounting of a way on the road. For this purpose press the Measure Distance button (the pictogram in the form of a ruler). Then select the first item from which you need to measure distance, and click it with the left mouse button. As a result of it on the card the mark in the form of a red dot will appear. After that select the second item (if necessary increase or reduce the card) on the card, and then also click it with the left mouse button. On the card there will be a straight line between the cities over which the distance between them in kilometers will be written.
2. Visit the page of the Rambler-Karty project to the address http://maps.rambler.ru. With its help it is possible to measure distance between the cities not directly, and through highways. To measure distance, press the Route button then set the cities between which it needs to be constructed. The cities can or be marked on the map (by means of the way described in the previous step), or to enter their name in the fields which are in the top part of the page. Having written or having chosen the cities, press the Lay button. The laid route will be marked on the map by the blue line, and information on it, including distance, will be displayed in the left part of the web page.
3. Turn on the GPS navigator (or start the GPS program of navigation on the mobile phone) and wait for detection of satellites. Then come into the menu and select the Lay a Route item. Enter names of the cities between which you want to measure distance and press the Lay button. In information on a route the distance between the cities will be specified. It makes sense to apply this way for lack of connection to the Internet.
