Carbon is a chemical element, nonmetal. There are several types of its modifications, for example diamond and graphite are carbon, and they differ only with the structure of a crystal lattice. Also exist fullerene, karbin and the little-known lonsdaleite found in the meteorites which fell to the ground. Carbon in a large number contains in coals. It is used as fuel, from it make coal electrodes for industrial furnaces, etc.

- Sugar, the concentrated sulfuric acid, water, rubber.
Instruction
1. Take a glass flask and fill in it a little ordinary sugar. Further, pour in a flask water that it no more than on two centimeters was higher than the level of sugar.
2. Then, take the concentrated sulfuric acid and it is careful, on drops add it to a flask with sugar. Later a short period in a flask pure carbon is formed.
3. Take metal capacity with densely closed cover and an exhaust tube. Ship several pieces of rubber in this capacity.
4. Put capacity on the gas burner, and lower the end of an exhaust tube in any can. When heating without air rubber will decay. The exhaust tube will come out gases, generally methane and liquid hydrocarbons, after the end of process at the bottom of capacity there will be a carbon.
