Even if the hero will die, then he will make it heroically. Describe how he offered the life for justice, at the same time emphasize meanness and cruelty of the enemy.
4. Use many exaggerations in the legend. If you describe a city siege, then let it last several years. If attacked the hero, then not one-two persons, and several dozen. Also in a legend there has to be an element wonderful and divine. Gods or other mythical beings can participate in conflicts between heroes.
