As plants survive in the desert

They grow odinochno or the whole colonies. Cacti have a fleshy body and special fibrous fabric which holds moisture. Some desert cacti are the real long-livers, their age reaches 150 years. An unusual and majestic plant it is possible to call a baobab. It has just huge trunk which can have a diameter 9 meters. During the most droughty periods of year the tree just dumps the leaves to reduce amount of the consumed moisture. And in the fall the baobab blossoms, then fleshy and quite tasty fruits appear. The tree very hardy and resistant to lack of moisture, can quite deeply start roots to the soil in search of water. Flowering Wilderness is considered the most amazing show. It is just improbable picture which should be seen. After waters the desert with a rain, it literally blossoms. Flowers are generally presented bulbous which are also capable to reserve moisture for long term. However it is possible to meet also a verbena with a primrose which blossom in all beauty after the period of rains. Desert flora beautiful and unusual. In a drought and lack of normal fertile soil of a plant manage not only to blossom, but also for long years are fixed in sands.
