Whether we know the native language? Certainly, all will answer in the affirmative, language – our main means of communication! But, it appears, grammar – only a language component, and an essence not only in it. The point is that language as the means of communication – the main component of the speech.
Language is the historically created system of substantial forms, with its help the people can turn the thoughts into a certain public property and even into spiritual richness of society.
All of us consider that all of us are able to communicate, but most often our communication – only banal exchange of information. However all know that the concept communication can be much more extensive, deeper. It becomes clear if to glance in the past. Educated people, since sixteenth century, communicated at so high level at which to us language it is not allowed to communicate simply. Served as the means of communication, but not only – it was a learning tool, true art. Now we console ourselves, justifying oneself deficiency time, and we continue to communicate, alas, at rather low, limited level.
Language nature as means of communication
Such means of communication as language, was created historically, in process of development of human society and its requirements. The language nature sign, it means that each word which is the sign has accurate communication with objects and the phenomena of the outside world. Behind each word as the sign, historically, within several millennia assigned the certain value clear only to that group of people which knows and applies this language.
The nature of language is allocated in its dual function: it is both the tool of thinking and way of communication for people. Language also keeps cultural wealth of society, works as the mechanism of social, cultural heredity.
In process of development of technical and social progress the mankind slowly, but surely expanded a circle of the requirements, because of it language was improved and developed, increased its lexicon too, its grammatical essence became more perfect. All this allows society to transfer not only any information, but also a set of details of a subject of information, any its shades today.
Language – the means of communication and knowledge, but not only. It still is also means of accumulation, transfer of public experience. Thanks to communication with application of language the display of reality in consciousness of one personality is complemented what was in consciousness of other people, because of this process opportunities for exchange of information grow.
Language and other means of communication
Communication by means of words (verbal) – the main, most perfect form of communication. The level of proficiency in language, culture and richness of the speech define possibilities of communication, its efficiency. But, besides language, there are also other means of communication, it: gestures, mimicry, pauses, intonations, manners and even appearance of the person. Communication, being live communication of subjects, quite naturally shows emotions of those who communicate, at the same time it creates nonverbal aspect of exchange of data, information.
Nonverbal communication is a special language of feelings, a product of development of people. It has property to considerably enhance substantial effect of communication verbal. Sometimes, under certain circumstances, nonverbal communication is capable to replace verbal. For example, silence can be occasionally more eloquent than words, and views allow to give more feelings, than offers.
And still musical sounds, acts and actions, images, drawings, drawings, symbols, signs and even mathematical formulas can be means of communication! A sign language of deaf-mutes – also the means of communication. The main thing what people have to remember, using means of communication – it is important to keep lucidity of mind, and then language of communication it will be clear always.
