Worms meet everywhere. In particular, rain. They treat in one of the most widespread families of worms - annulate. Such worms received the name because their body consists as if of the separate ringlets strung on an elastic basis.
And how worms?
Earthworms are an important element of a food chain of our world. And not only. Processing tons of fossils, worms not only clean the earth, but also enrich it with a humus, increase fertility, loosen the soil and allow air to get to the roots of plants, increasing that its productivity.
To understand looking at a worm where it begins or where terminates not easy. That is at first sight it is impossible to understand where it has a head and where a tail. Only he, apparently, does not attach it particular importance as the shape of his body allows it to move with ease for search of food in any direction.
Annelidas possess the surprising device for movement. On each ringlet of a body there are tiny bristles allowing a worm to move on each side. The worm has also genitals. It is well noticeable corbel on a body of a worm. It is also the main part of a system of reproduction. Worms have one more property, unique and extremely important for them. All of them are two-floors, that is hermaphrodites. Having at the same time completely created genitals of both sexes, worms at a meeting do not think what role to them to play this time. For this reason any two worms at a meeting are already capable to reproduction.
There is such love
Worms exchange semen at a meeting. It has ability some time to remain in the slime covering a body of a worm. This slime is emitted with the special cages located on a corbel. When spermatozoa ripen, the same corbel emits slime which forms a special cocoon. The worm shifts a cocoon through the head, thereby adding to it the ova arriving from sexual segments. At contact of spermatozoa and ova there is a fertilization of the last. In the cocoon remaining in the earth, there is a development of future hearts. After certain time it leaves the tiny, but already completely created worms. As there is no wonder, but it is not the only way of reproduction of worms. Thanks to improbable ability to regeneration, separate parts of a worm with ease are restored to whole. That is if to cut a worm, then them will be already two. The only lack of this way that for the unclear reason all restored hearts become females. But also it is not a limit. Worms are capable to breed also in the sexless way, again, at such population there will be only females.
