2. Be defined whether you will hold one small animal or couple for receiving posterity is necessary. Take serially small animals. Turn them on a back and attentively study genitalia. If the small animal has no obviously expressed testicles (testicles), it does not mean yet that before you a samochka. Genitalia at chinchillas are very similar externally, and sometimes even at an adult male the testicles can be hidden under the surface of a body.

The main external difference of a male and female consists in an interval between sexual - urethral bodies (at a female an urethra, at a male a penis) and an anus which is located from a tail. At a male this interval which is obviously expressed and well noticeable (about 2-3 mm). The female has no such distance. As the small animal matures, his genitals change a little. But all the same, at an adult chinchilla the sex is defined on absence (at a female) or on existence (at a male) obviously expressed distance between sexual urethral bodies and an anus.
4. Get the soulmate for the favourite, but consider that the age of a samochka has to be less.
