1. You can calculate the geometrical and actual volume of an aquarium. Geometrical volume is that amount of water which will be located in an empty aquarium. It is calculated on a formula a*b*c where and is the length of an aquarium, b – width, and with – height. But actually in the operating aquarium besides water you will have soil, shells, perhaps, the decorative sunk ship or the underwater lock, the equipment necessary for life of fishes, seaweed and directly inhabitants.
2. To calculate the actual volume of an aquarium, it will be most reliable to use measured ware or even a usual can. Fill up soil and shells to future dwelling, install necessary devices, deliver to scenery and begin to fill an aquarium with water by means of capacity, without forgetting to count how many times you scooped water. After the aquarium was filled, multiply the number of the liters which are located in ware on number of times that you had to fill it with water. As a result at you the actual volume will turn out. Certainly, it is in that case more convenient to count volume just before settling of fishes though it and a quite good way to check an aquarium for tightness. The same way can be applied also to round aquariums as mathematically precisely to calculate their volume it will not turn out.
3. Often the producer writes its volume on an aquarium. The most often found unit of measure is liters, cubic centimeters and cubic meters. Remember that one liter is equal to one cubic decimeter. If you bought an aquarium in England or America, its capacity can be measured in pints or inches cubic. One pint will be equal 0.57 liters. In case you deal with the American pint, the value will be another – 0.47. One cubic inch makes 0.016 liters.
