To run in such wheels – a prerogative of hamsters, but not decorative rats. As rats are the rodents who are not especially loving a daylight, in a cage it is possible to establish a special lodge. But it is not obligatory. As it was told above, the cage cannot be placed on a draft or in the sun. Near the battery rat "lodge" has nothing to do too – dry air is harmful to a small animal. Laying. You should not use sawdust and other wooden shaving as a laying. The small sawdust which is used as laying can get into eyes to a rodent, cause allergies or in general razdrazhit skin of a rat. For laying it is better to use white paper or a piece of natural fabric. Forage. Decorative rats should be fed with various food: oats, wheat, barley.
