How to make a birds feeder of cardboard

The simplest birds feeders can be made practically of any cardboard box. However it is for this purpose insufficiently simple to cut out an opening in a wall and to suspend a box for a string. It is necessary to design all design so that it was convenient to birds to sit, and then and to fly up from a feeding trough.

Instruction

1. Take a cardboard box from under milk. On opposite walls draw windows. They have to begin in 2-2.5 cm from a box bottom. Cut out openings by means of a stationery knife. It will be more convenient to birds to sit if you make for them a pole. Choose a strong branch which length exceeds distance from one window to another on 15 cm. Under windows scissors make on an opening and insert into them a branch. Openings have to be less than diameter of a branch that it strongly kept in cardboard. Pass a cord throughout a top of a box and tie a loop. If you want to fix more reliably a feeding trough, it is possible not to hang up it on a branch, and to tie to a trunk. In this case windows need to be cut through on walls which adjoin with each other. Pass a cord throughout openings on not cut through box edge from above and from below.

2. Contents of a feeding trough will be better protected from wind if to make it of boxes from under candies. As a basis take a bottom of a cardboard box, make a roof of two covers. Combine them sides and stick together an adhesive tape, to them attach a roof to a bottom, having glued a design on the long parties. That the feeding trough was less shaken, hang up it on 2 ropes. Fix the first on the center of the long parties. The second – on the ends of an edge of a roof. Fasten crossing of ropes so that the loop turned out.

3. It is possible to make a feeding trough with the forage batcher. On the center of a bottom of a box from under candies paste a cardboard cylinder. At its basis make openings equally spaced. They have to be rather big that through them the forage got enough sleep. As birds eat the pouring-out grain or to pull out it from a cylinder, it will be possible to pour a new portion. From above and to two sides of a feeding trough it is possible to paste cardboard walls to protect bird's "dining room" from wind.

4. Many birds like to regale on fat (important that it was not salty or smoked) or oil. More conveniently to fix it in a feeding trough, take a high narrow box from under milk or juice. Put in it some cargo that it was not shaken. Closer to a bottom make 2 openings, insert into them a pole. Slightly higher closer to opposite side of a box insert a strong wire into cardboard, string on it pieces of fat or oil, bend the ends of a wire. The distance between a pole and "skewer" with food has to be such that birds could reach delicacy.
