Any bird who is contained in bondage needs a cage. The existing stereotype that in them they suffer and in every way seek to get out to will, is incorrect – feathery pets get used to a cage over time and grow roots in it. Anyway, having decided to get a bird at home, you have to take care of a good cage. The lodge for a bird can be bought in any pet-shop today, but many fans of birds prefer to make it with own hands.

1. So, if you decided to make a cage for a pet independently, then for a start decide on its sizes. Think over how the cage has to be designed that the bird felt in it comfortably and could move freely.
2. Draw the sketch of future cage, carefully designate its main details, make all necessary measurements. You should consider step size between rods and their thickness. On design future dwelling of your feathery friend can be any. Here everything depends on your taste and imagination.
3. As a rule, the cage consists of a framework, a metal lattice and a door. Two sliding pallets for sand are also necessary. The framework - a cage basis, is made of a strong tree - an oak or an ash-tree. Make in it cuts for pallets and a feeding trough. Pallets have to be established from two parties.
4. Prepare necessary levels, in their top part make a marking for openings. Stretch through these openings a wire for a lattice. It is better to choose it from stainless steel. The distance between rods depends on the size of a bird - the she more small, the it is less than a distance.
5. Openings are necessary for a wire different diameter. In the lower levels - up to 6 cm in depth, and top and average - drill through. Make openings such that the wire entered them hardly. Do not forget to cut on one of levels a cut for a feeding trough of 6 by 2 cm in size.
6. Now start assembly of a framework. At first beat the lower levels, then - guides for a feeding trough. Their height has to be about 2 cm. Fix the lower bottom from metal or plywood by nails or screws. Then attach vertical levels on framework corners, attach average levels for bigger stability of an iron lattice to them.
7. The framework is built. Start production of a lattice. In each opening in a level push wire rods. Fix by glue their ends. On a front lattice leave a gleam for a door. Drill two extreme openings in door levels through, for mobile fixing of a door, the others - to a half of their thickness.
8. Make doors of a cage in the same way. In extreme openings of door levels push one of a provolok of an iron lattice. On it the door will freely move.
9. Make a feeding trough and a pallet of the sheet of aluminum (2 mm in thickness). The pallet has to enter and leave freely. Outside the cage can be painted. Grind wooden levels an emery paper, a proolifta, dry and varnish.
