Pneumonia
Pneumonia at krasnoukhy turtles arises from overcooling, at non-compliance with climatic conditions in an aquaterrarium. The lighting lamp under which they could be heated is necessary for turtles. In the absence of due treatment the pneumonia for several days will lead to the death of an animal. The first disturbing signs: cold, heavy breath, a turtle floats all the time and does not dive. The mouth is constantly open, the animal makes the hissing sounds.
Treatment can be carried out both by antibiotics, and folk remedies. The last option is relevant only at initial stages. The antibiotic is selected the doctor-veterinarian, depending on a disease stage. Actively enter vitamins into a diet, it is desirable to get a source of ultra-violet radiation. From national methods it is effective at pneumonia inhalation with camomile broth. It is necessary to hold a turtle over the evaporating broth so far that to your hand it was not hot. It is also possible to do warm baths with a camomile.
Diseases of eyes
An eye - one more widespread disease of krasnoukhy turtles swelled. Mucous membranes of their eyes become crimson, eyelids look swollen. The reasons of such state – dirty water and the shortage of vitamins. First of all it is necessary to clean properly an aquaterrarium, to wipe eyes of a turtle with three-percent solution of boric acid. It can be done also camomile broth. Then to address the veterinarian for eye drops.
Armor diseases
Problems comprehend also an armor of krasnoukhy turtles. The most frequent – rickets, necrosis and osteomyelitis. Young individuals have rickets, it includes softness of an armor and softening of a jaw. Treatment is necessary that there were no irreparable deformations. It is necessary to provide enough D3 vitamin in a diet, it is obligatory to establish a source of ultra-violet radiation over the dwelling of an animal. Necroses arise after violation of integrity of an armor when the infection gets to a crack. Guards of an armor begin to peel off, then process passes to bones. If not to remove the damaged guards, the animal will die. Wounds should be processed special anti-fungal and antibacterial ointments, to avoid water ingress. At the started stages the necrosis of an armor does not respond to treatment. Osteomyelitis – defeat by armor bacteria. At first there are rough spots, later there is a dying off of a layer of an armor. In the started cases the process reaches internals. Treatment: introduction hypodermically antibiotics. The main reason – a trauma.
Skin diseases
Fungal defeat of integuments too often meets at turtles. Peeling, a raid are noted. Treatment consists in skin washing by potassium permanganate and use of anti-fungal ointments. It is necessary to boil all objects from an aquaterrarium. Sometimes peeling is a deficiency symptom of vitamin A or at a gipervitaminoza. Only the veterinarian can make the correct diagnosis.
