It is interesting that the least and lowest horses in the world - at all not a pony, and independent rare breed of a falabell which was removed long and systematically in Argentina.
The most undersized breedRepresentatives of the breed of a falabell removed in Argentina are considered as the least horses. Since the end of XIX to the middle of the 20th century the family of breeders of horses of Falabell was engaged in fixing of the main signs of breed and its cultivation on the ranch near Buenos Aires. Initially removal began with herd as a part of which there was a breed a kreollo-pony and little Spanish horses.
Horses of breed of a falabell reach height in withers of 40-75 cm. The stallion by nickname Litl-Pamkin broke the record on growth among the relatives - 35.5 cm. The weight of animals - from 20 to 60 kg. Horses can have any color - bay, skewbald, roan, dappled. They have small hooves, short legs (but is longer, than at a pony), a proportional and graceful body, thin skin, a beautiful mane. At the same time they have quite big head, and on one edge and a vertebra it is less, than at other breeds. They very much like to jump through obstacles and they manage it very well.
Falabella are good-natured, clever, vigorous, easily give in to training and differ in long life expectancy - they can live up to 40 years and even more.
Unlike a pony, because of the more graceful addition, falabella are not suitable for riding and hard agricultural work. Now they are generally used for riding of children as decorative and even pets. The last is unsurprising - already all got used to tiny doggies, and falabella attract fans of little animals. The unique feature of breed is that it bears in itself the dominating gene provoking the birth of smaller posterity at ordinary horses if they are crossed to falabelly (artificial insemination is for this purpose applied). Each new generation falabell gives more and more undersized horses. Falabella - on average 4-6 thousand dollars cost very much.
Special casesBesides falabell, in the world of horses also other champions meet. Tumbelin's horse entered in 2006 in the Guinness Book of Records belonging to breed of tiny dwarfish horses has height of 43 cm and the weight of 26 kg. The reason of its tiny sizes - a dwarfish gene as the owner of a horse, the American farmer Mike Goslin speaks. In general Tumbelina is healthy, however her hind legs several korotkovata and are disproportionate to a body.
In 2010 on the English farm the foal Einstein was born. At the birth it had height only 36 cm and the weight of 2.7 kg.
