Most of representatives of monkeys quite large, the weight of some considerably exceeds the weight of the person, however there are among them absolutely remains. The least monkey is dwarfish the tamarin which can freely go in on a palm of the person.
Some of the least primacies
Dwarfish the tamarin is one of the tiniest primacies, conceding unless to a mouse lemur. These amusing monkeys live in South America. They are widespread in Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, in the west of Brazil. A large number tamarinof lives in a river basin of Amazon. These monkeys reach only 11-15 centimeters in length, and weight does not exceed them 100-150 grams that is comparable with a weight of the mobile phone. Dwarfish tamarins are owners of long tenacious tails of 17-22 centimeters in length. Their body is covered by dense wool. From above it golden-brown color that allows small animals to disappear more successfully, the lower half can be white or orange. On the head and a breast at the tamarin there are long bunches of hair reminding a mane.The least monkeys eat juice of trees. For its production they take a bite of a grass the sharp cutters. Also fruit, insects and arachnoid enter their diet. Tamarins are active in morning and day time. These small animals are very careful and at the first suspicions on danger quickly hide. Tamarins live the big families numbering several generations. Social interactions play a large role in life of these monkeys. Not only the father, but also other males of group participates in education of younger generation. They potter with cubs, carry them on the back and return to mother that that could feed them. Tamarins think of members of the pack much, but do not stand strangers. If on their territory foreign monkey gets, the tiny small animal turns into the severe soldier. Tamarins have the small sizes and pleasant appearance therefore they are quite often supported in quality of pets. Monkeys are lodged in spacious open-air cages. It is desirable to get the tamarin in couples as for them it is very important to communicate with relatives. Presence of the fellow does not mean that tamarins will ignore own owner. Moreover, they can accept the person spending with them much time in the pack. Then monkeys will freely give themselves to stroke and can even flirt for the owner, having examined his hair on existence of fleas.
