What temperature has to be in an aquarium and as to support it

To provide aquarian inhabitants with comfortable conditions, it is necessary to observe precisely that temperature condition which will be for them optimum. For each species of fishes there is comfortable temperature of dwelling.

Rather cool water is necessary for some fishes, others are more thermophilic. It needs to be considered surely upon purchase of an aquarium and also at selection of different types of fishes. Previously it is necessary to make sure surely of a possibility of their coexistence at an identical temperature.

Optimum temperature for different types of aquarian fishes

For the vast majority of decorative fishes the optimum water temperature in an aquarium is from 22 to 26 degrees. First of all it is worth being guided by this temperature condition. However there are exceptions. Some species of fish prefer warmer water in an aquarium. Some species of labyrinth fishes and all diskusa, first of all, belong to them.

For goldfishes of more comfortable the low water temperature is. Ideal temperature for them — from 18 to 23 degrees. These fishes rather long time can live also at more high temperature, however subsequently it causes in them development of various skin diseases. It is necessary to avoid sharp fluctuations of temperature more than 3-4 degrees. Smooth change is quite admissible, and here jumps which happen during one day, and even several hours, are very undesirable. It often happens in aquariums of small volume — less than 50 liters. Such small volumes are very sensitive to temperature drops of the environment, they quickly cool down and quickly heat up. The window leaf opened at several o'clock in cold season can cause temperature change in an aquarium by several degrees. In that case fishes can will catch a cold. Then they need special treatment. In the environment of dwelling of such jumps of temperature does not exist as the big mass of water rather slowly is cooled and heat up. Therefore fishes are not adapted for sharp temperature differences at all, and except diseases, it can cause in them a stress.

Temperature maintenance of water in an aquarium

For maintenance of constant water temperature in an aquarium heaters of various types are used. Temperature condition is controlled by means of thermometers. If fluctuations of temperature indoors exceed 4-5 degrees, it is expedient to use heaters with automatic thermal regulation which allows to maintain the constant set temperature. It is important to distribute evenly heat arriving from the heater on an aquarium. For this purpose the heater has to be washed by the water or vials of air arriving from the filter and the compressor so that heated water spread on all tank.
