How to bathe an overland turtle

Strangely enough, it is quite simple to bathe an overland turtle. She does not demand special shampoo, a fluffy towel and the fashionable hair dryer. And bathing is necessary for her not more often than two times a week. The majority of types overland skulls live in deserts, steppes and savannas. There about frequent ""washing"" there is no speech also!

It is required to you

  • - basin;
  • - sponge;
  • - rag;
  • - children's soap.

Instruction

1. For washing it is possible to use a soft foam sponge or a rag. If the turtle strongly became soiled (especially it concerns the animals living in the summer at the dacha), it is possible to use usual children's or liquid soap, but only on horn parts of a turtle! It is especially carefully necessary to wash out the head as you risk to get soap into eyes or a nose. It is better to wipe a turtle under flowing water, so you will better wash away dirt, and the animal will not remain in dirty water. Moreover, wild turtles always pull in the head in an armor, and under flowing water extend. So you will be able to wipe with it a neck and the head without effort.

2. Prepare a basin with warm water. Water temperature has to be within 30-36 degrees, it is no more and not less. Too low temperature can chill a turtle, and high will burn skin. Water level has to reach to a turtle slightly above the neck basis. But at once prepare a water supply as turtles just adore doing a toilet of a bathtub!

3. Dip a turtle into water and let's it accustom. At first for a turtle it is very unusual, but through several ""sessions"" she with pleasure will already wait for water procedures. After half-hour bathing the turtle needs to be got, wiped with a napkin or a towel and to put on ""drying"" under a lamp or in the sun. It is possible to smear an armor with olive or sunflower oil. Do not allow a turtle to sit on a draft at all. She can seriously catch a cold.
