Blossoming of water in an aquarium often begins suddenly. Water at first slightly grows turbid, then becomes green and low-transparent. To fight with these phenomena, you need to know its nature.

1. Mass reproduction monocelled of flagellates of microorganisms is the reason of blossoming of water. Botanists carry them to seaweed, zoologists – partially to the simplest animals. But it will be important for you that all these microorganisms are capable to photosynthesis, that is light is necessary for their development.
2. The excess of light is always specified as the main reason for blossoming of water. At installation of an aquarium you have to track that direct sunlight did not fall on it. The exception can be made only for spawning aquariums and only for the direct period of spawning if it is necessary.
3. Also the spectral composition of light matters. The higher plants prefer "warm" light of glow lamps whereas seaweed quickly breed also at "cold" light of fluorescent lamps. Apply a combination of various light sources and try to pick up illumination so that it was sufficient for growth of aquarian plants, but no more than that. It is necessary to light an aquarium from above.
4. Content in water of carbon dioxide which is emitted much by aquarian animals is of great importance for photosynthesis of flagellates. The higher plants are competitors of flagellates in absorption of carbon dioxide, but they also allocate it in night-time. The ammonia dissolved in water is also food for flagellates.
5. Surely use aeration and filtration of water in an aquarium, and round the clock. Thereby you will create conditions for normal gas exchange, and it, in turn, will reduce water zatsvetaniye probability. Filtration will allow you to get rid of the weighed fossils which are nutrient medium for the lowest organisms, such as euglena - the active participant of process of blossoming.
6. If water in an aquarium already blossomed, then you should fight against this phenomenon. Full change of water will not yield results. Monocelled flagellates of a hlamidomonada are able to form drought-resistant disputes, and euglenas are cysts. After a while the aquarium will blossom again. Use biological methods of fight against blossoming better.
7. The microorganisms causing water blossoming are food of many animals. Young tadpoles of a shportsevy frog will clean an aquarium from flagellates in several hours. If you start in an aquarium of large water fleas of Magna, then they will filter water for couple of days, and, they will be eaten subsequently by fishes.
8. You can use also mollusks filtration organisms. Double-wing sharovka will reliably clean and will protect your aquarium from water blossoming if you put them in a plastic can with small the openings burned by a needle. Walls banks will protect them from fishes.
